Robyn: the Writer

A Film & Screen Studies with Creative Writing graduate, I freelance for magazines and websites.

I am currently completing a media and communications internship for a fantastic charity which specialises in the environment and religions, which has provided me with a fantastic opportunity to work on my research and writing skills. My work here has focused on updating webpages, which I have sourced information for, written and uploaded; project blog maintenance; formal letter writing and persuasive writing with specific concentration on fundraising. I am also fortunate enough to be able to say that my placement has seen me write a passage that is currently on display in the offices of the United Nations. By working alongside journalists and writers as well as amazingly inspiring academics and specialists in faiths and environment, I am honoured to be learning from experienced and established professionals in the media.

Given my passion for film, I am a regular contributor to film website SubtitledOnline as well as indie music website Live-Music-Scene. I have also turned my hand to areas other than entertainment journalism and written on topics as varied as crafts to Catholics.

I have worked as part of several in-house editorial teams, including Venue, Folio and several Wildfire titles such as animation magazine Imagine. This includes conducting and writing up interviews; researching for specific articles; editing and sub-editing, and persuasive and promotional writing. I have written for a variety of audiences with a multitude of purposes, from informing young children to pitching businesses to the house-proud middle-classes.

I am open to approaches from editors and publishers and am happy to discuss potential articles that need to be written.
